Super Bright Under Hood Light

This is a very practical light to have when working under the hood of a car. It is super bright and does a great job of lighting up the entire engine bay instead of leaving you trying to work with a small flashlight.The light bar has adjustable positioning so you can get the light where you need it, and the magnetic ends make it easy to attach to metal surfaces. It also has hooks for hanging it in different positions, which gives you a few options depending on what you are working on.The rechargeable design is really convenient since you do not have to worry about running a cord across the garage. The digital display is also useful for keeping an eye on the remaining battery level. The yellow housing makes it easy to see when working around the engine bay as well.One of my favorite features is the motion sensor. Being able to turn the light on and off with a simple hand movement is really useful when your hands are dirty or covered in grease and you do not want to touch the light. Overall, the light is well suited for automotive work and is bright, adjustable and easy to use.

Great light for working under the hood

Picked up this yellow light bar to help out with car repairs, and it’s turned out to be a nice addition to my setup. Even though it's built out of all plastic, it feels remarkably tough in my hands with zero creaking, even around the pivot joints. Operating it couldn't be simpler either since there are only two buttons to deal with: power and the motion sensor.The light panel is nice and long with 3 color settings, each having a high and low mode. The beam pattern itself is solid and even with no annoying hotspots. On high it lights up the whole engine bay easily, and on dim it’s still plenty usable for tight spots. It’s got a solid red mode and a flashing red strobe that’s pretty hard to miss from far away, though the red itself looks a little washed out compared to some of my other lights, even from this same brand.Getting it aimed where I want is easy. The head swivels 360 degrees and both ends pivot 180. Each end has two magnets on the bottom that grip tight to bare metal, plus there are two flip-out hooks on the back if you need to hang it. I couldn't find any info on the battery size, and it looks like it's sealed inside since the case is screwed shut. The digital battery display did drop a few percent in the first 10 minutes of testing, so that’s something to keep in mind.My only real gripe is that I wish it were a bit longer or came with adjustable hook arms on the ends like bigger hood lights do. A lot of newer cars have thick insulation under the hood, so you can't just stick the magnets anywhere in the middle as you have to find an exposed metal spot instead. It's not a dealbreaker, just means it's not a quick snap-on for every single car out there. Still, for the price and performance, I'd say it's worth picking up.
