Product Details

Put the ratchet head on the bolt – and your power tool where there's room. The Avichome Offset Extension MAX is a long extension with a reversible ratcheting head at the far end. Drive it from the open end with an impact wrench, electric ratchet or hand ratchet, and turn fasteners buried behind brackets, hoses and engine parts.

Why you'll love it

  • Ratchet head at the bolt – works in spots where there's no room to swing a handle
  • Reversible double-way ratchet – flip the switch to tighten or loosen
  • Power-tool ready – drive it with a pneumatic or electric wrench, or by hand
  • Non-slip knurled grip – steady control on the long handle

Specifications

  • Drive: 1/2" (12.5 mm) square drive
  • Head: reversible double-way ratchet
  • Material: forged chrome-vanadium steel, fully heat-treated
  • Handle: extended, knurled non-slip grip

In the box

  • 1 × Offset Extension MAX ratchet

Use impact tools on low settings and never as a breaker bar on seized bolts – free stuck bolts with penetrating oil first.

Ratchet head at the bolt. Impact · electric · hand. 1/2" drive. Reversible.

Why make it harder than it has to be?

No room to swing?

The ratcheting head sits right on the bolt, so you never need swing room around the fastener.

Buried bolts?

Reach past brackets, hoses and covers – keep your tool and your hands out in the open.

Slow hand ratcheting?

Spin it with an impact wrench or electric ratchet from the far end and get it done in seconds.

How It Works

1

Seat the ratchet head

Put your socket on the head and set it on the hidden bolt – no swing room needed.

2

Drive from the open end

Connect an impact wrench, electric ratchet or hand ratchet to the 1/2" drive where you have space.

3

Bolt turns

The shaft spins the ratcheting head, turning the fastener without re-positioning your hand every few degrees.

Offset Extension MAX reach ratchet

Works with the tools you already own

Impact wrench

Use low settings for fast spinning.

Electric ratchet

Quick runs on long bolts.

Hand ratchet

Full control on delicate jobs.

Your sockets

Standard 1/2" drive fits the sockets you have.

Why the others fall short

Reversible double-way ratchet head

✕ Straight extension

Still needs swing room at the handle end – useless when the bolt is buried.

✕ Flex or swivel joint

Bends under load and walks off the bolt.

✕ Stubby ratchet

A few degrees per stroke. Slow and tiring.

✓ Avichome Offset Extension MAX

The ratchet head does the turning at the bolt while you drive it from where there is space.

Where it earns its place

Use cases in tight engine bays

Engine bays

Alternators, starters, brackets and manifold bolts.

Suspension

Control-arm and sway-bar hardware behind the frame.

Exhaust & heat shields

Bolts tucked above pipes and covers.

Equipment & machinery

Mowers, ATVs and small-engine work.

It solves reach, not rust. On seized bolts use penetrating oil first.

Still functioning after 18 months of abuse

I bought one while I was on strong painkillers and expected it to suffer an unscheduled self-disassembly the first time I used it.

But after 18 months of complete abuse, it still functions. I am pleasantly surprised.

Impressive with a half-inch impact

Like everyone else, my first thought was: will it actually hold up to a half-inch high-torque impact and break bolts loose?

I bought it specifically to find out, and it is impressive. I easily busted loose rusted caliper bracket bolts with my DeWalt half-inch impact.

The design is brilliantly simple. Instead of fragile gears, it uses a fixed ball and machined rod mechanism, so there are no gears to break and it handles direction changes smoothly.

A real game changer for vehicle work

What a well-built and incredibly useful tool. Being able to manipulate fasteners in otherwise impossible-to-reach locations has been a real game changer for working on vehicles.

This thing is also very capable of producing impressive torque, so be mindful of that.

One of my favorite long-reach tools

I love this tool. It has quickly become one of my favorite options for long-reach jobs.

I recently used it on commercial farm equipment where several bolts were positioned deep behind an access panel. Once the bolts were loose, this extension made it much easier to run them in and out without climbing inside or twisting my body into awkward positions.

The long reach is especially valuable because it reduces repetitive motion and unnecessary strain.

Exactly what I needed for an impossible bolt

I bought this after seeing it on Facebook, and it ended up being exactly what I needed.

I used it with my Hyper Tough Stubby Gen 2 and the next-size-up battery. It finally let me remove a stubborn bolt on the intake manifold of my 2015 Nissan Altima — the frustrating bolt tucked underneath that I could not reach with my usual tools.

It saved me from taking apart more than necessary. Definitely worth it for impossible-to-reach spots.

Much better than fighting the bolt by hand

I had to replace my engine and was frustrated because I could not access every tight space with my impact driver.

I was a little worried about the torque rating at first, but even then it was still far better than turning loose bolts by hand and scraping my skin on sharp edges.

I was glad to see that it can actually handle a lot of torque.

Offset Extension MAX

Questions? We’ve got answers.

How is this different from a normal extension?

A normal extension still needs room to swing a ratchet at the end. The MAX has the ratcheting head right at the bolt, so you drive it from where there is space.

Can I use an impact wrench?

Yes – use low settings. Do not use it as a breaker bar to hammer loose seized bolts.

What drive size is it?

1/2" square drive. Use reducers if your sockets are 3/8" or 1/4".

Does it work both ways?

Yes. Flip the switch on the ratchet head to tighten or loosen.

Will it replace my other ratchets?

No – it is the tool you grab when the others can not reach.

What if it does not work for me?

Unused items can be returned within 14 days – email support@avichome.com. Defects are always covered.
